On having a strong willed child

This week has been a challenging one in parenting. While it comes as no surprise that my girl is strong willed, my dad sent me the below photo to help calm me down.

This isn't a complainy-pants post FYI. Though there were more than a few moments than I'd like to count when I totally lost my cool! In a nutshell, the photo above made me realize that I have a little one who has the capacity for greatness. With communication at the forefront, and two hard of hearing parents to deal with, this little one has already started her way to becoming an agent of change.

Even though there are moments when she'll unreasonably stand her ground against me, I know that taking off my cochlear implant isn't always the right call (tempting, though!). Being hard of hearing doesn't necessarily give you the ticket out of tantrums - but it does help that I can turn down the volume.

Signing off now, to regain some sanity. Thanks for listening!

  2. Oh yes! I am just thankful that both of us aren't strong willed... double the trouble!
